The NUML GPA Calculator has proven to be an invaluable tool for the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) students. This calculator, specifically designed for the Grade Point Average (GPA) criteria of NUML University, provides an easy approach for the students to figure out their Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) without facing the difficulty of complex calculations.

To determine their GPA, students provide their grades and total credit hours for each course during the semester. Because of the precise and accurate calculations associated with the NUML GPA Calculator, students can quickly assess their GPA records, making the procedure of GPA calculating easier and more efficient.

The GPA calculator at NUML University also allows students to set grade point average (GPA) goals and monitor their academic progress over time. Students also have the option to permanently keep their SGPA within GPA Calculator to ensure that it can be entered during the CGPA calculation.

## NUML CGPA Calculator

The CGPA, or cumulative grade point average, is the weighted average of grade points of all courses from two or more semesters computed using the NUML CGPA Calculator.

It is calculated by dividing the sum of all courses in all semesters (Course Credit Hours X Grade Points Earned) by the total credit hours of all semesters using the NUML CGPA Calculator.

Students can use this National University of Modern Languages (NUML) CGPA Calculator to calculate their cumulative grade point average (CGPA) by only entering their grades and total credit hours for all the semesters. This calculator feature enables students to track their academic achievements effectively without long or complex calculations.

## How to Calculate NUML University GPA and CGPA

**Step 1: Find the grade points for each course.**

The grade points for each course are given in the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) grading system. For example, an A+ grade is worth 4.0 grade points; an A grade is worth 4.0; a B+ grade is worth 3.5; a C grade is worth 2.0; a D+ grade is worth 1.5; and so on.

**Step 2: Multiply the grade points for each course by the number of credit hours for that course.**

For example, if you take a course worth 3 credit hours and earn an A+ grade in that course, then you would multiply 4.0 (the grade points for an A grade) by 3 (the number of credit hours for that course) to get 12.00-grade points.

**Step 3: Add up the grade points for all courses in a semester.**

For example, if you take 4 more courses in a semester and you earn the following grades: A+, A, B+, C, and D+, then you would add up the grade points for each course to get 12.00 + (4.0*3)+ (4.0*4) + (3.5*3) + (2.0*3) + (1.5*4) = 62.5-grade points.

**Step 4: Divide the total number of grade points by the total number of credit hours for the semester.**

In the example above, the semester’s total number of credit hours is 20, so you divide 62.5-grade points by 20 credit hours to get a GPA of 3.1.

**Step 5: Repeat steps 2-4 for all semesters that you have taken courses.**

Once you have calculated the GPA for each semester, you can calculate your CGPA by adding up the GPAs for all semesters and dividing by the number of semesters.

**Example:**

Let’s say that you have taken 3 semesters of courses at NUML University, and you have the following GPAs for each semester:

- Semester 1: 3.1
- Semester 2: 3.5
- Semester 3: 3.7

Your CGPA would be calculated as follows:

(3.1 + 3.5 + 3.7) / 3 = 3.4

Therefore, your CGPA would be 3.4.

## NUML Grading System

The grading system of National University of Modern Languages (NUML) is absolute, which is official. Practically, this grading system applies to all batches or programs of NUML University.

This grading system builds the University’s GPA/CGPA calculator. There are many grades in this grading system, ranging from A to F. It has been found that different letter grades correspond to different quality points.

These quality points demonstrate the progress of a student in each course. The table below represents the letter grades’ associated percentage and quality points.

Letter Grade | Grade Points | Grade Definition |
---|---|---|

A+ | 4.0 | Excellent |

A | 4.0 | |

B+ | 3.5 | Very Good |

B | 3.0 | Good |

C+ | 2.5 | Satisfactory |

C | 2.0 | |

D+ | 1.5 | Passing |

D | 1.0 | |

F | 0.0 | Fail |

### Letter Grades With Marks Percentage

Letter Grade | Marks Percentage |
---|---|

A+ | 90% - 100% |

A | 80% - 89.99% |

B+ | 75% - 79.99% |

B | 70% - 74.99% |

C+ | 65% - 69.99% |

C | 60% - 64.99% |

D+ | 55% - 59.99% |

D | 50% - 54.99% |

F | Below 50 % |

Instead of A-F, the special letter grades listed below may also appear on a transcript of a student against a course:-

**R: **The letter grade “R” denotes “Repeated” and is usually written on students’ transcripts to mark courses that have been repeated or improved. When a student improves, his previous letter grades are replaced by new ones, which are then utilized to calculate the GPA.

**I: **The letter grade “I” signifies “Incomplete”. If a student receives a transcript before finishing all course demands, the remaining criteria will be indicated on the transcript as “I” (incomplete). When the maximum permitted duration specified for a program ends, the grade letter “I” will inevitably be changed to an “F” grade.

**RW:** The grade letter “RW” refers to “Result Withheld or withdrawal” and is typically used when the result has not been revealed. If the authorities at NUML University have temporarily delayed the results or grades, then the “RW” grade will be awarded to a student.

**RA:** “RA” is the abbreviation for “re-appear”. As the name indicates, this letter grade will be employed when a person is absent or fails.

The letter grades “W” and “I” may appear on students’ transcripts for all degree programs at NUML University. These grades are common; however, they are not used when calculating the GPA or CGPA of a student. While the thesis work of PhD students is only graded according to the following scale:

**Distinction: **A distinction is bestowed on a student who obtains unconditional grades in his thesis. Further, there are no adjustments or modifications required in this case.

**Honours: **In this case, a student pass with minimal alterations may be provided, and changes or amendments may be made.

**Pass: **This is for the students whose work is satisfactory or who might pass their thesis on their second try.

Normally, these grades are not implemented when calculating the GPA or CGPA of a student at National University of Modern Languages (NUML).
