Absolute Grading System

Grading scale; – At the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF), grades are assigned using a 4-point system. 

Letter Grade; – The grading system employs letters ranging from ‘A’ to ‘D.’ The letter ‘A’ indicates the highest grade attainable (80-100%), while the letter ‘D’ is assigned to the lowest grade possible (40-49%).

Specific letter grades hold a special meaning. For instance, “F” signifies failure, and “W” means withdrawal.

Grade Point; –  To calculate grade points, multiply the letter grade by its corresponding credit hours.

Credit Hours; – Each semester equals 3-4 credit hours. You must earn at least 12 credit hours to complete your current semester. It varies according to your degree requirements.

Withdraw and Switch your Course

  • Students must be aware that there is a limited 7-day window to make any changes to their course(s) after the semester has started.
  • Furthermore, if a student wishes to withdraw from a course, they must do so within five (5) weeks of the semester starting. 
  • You can enrol during the corresponding semester if you have received an ‘F’ or ‘D’ grade and wish to improve it.
  • Improving your grades will lead to the removal of ‘F’ and ‘D’ grades from past semesters when computing your CGPA. However, it is crucial to remember that these grades will still be reflected on your transcript.
  • It is crucial(significant) to adhere to these policies to ensure a successful academic experience.

UAF GPA Criteria

Academic Requirement

Suppose you want to be considered for admission to the B.Sc. Computer Science program, you must have passed the Higher Secondary School or an equivalent exam from a recognized institution and received a minimum of 45% marks.

Please note that marks earned through NCC and Hafiz-e-Quran will not be considered, and 20 marks from each will be excluded.

Minimum and Maximum GPA Requirement

  • Minimum Grade Point Average of 2.20
  • The Maximum achievable GPA is 4.00

Academic Standing

The requirements for GPA to be admitted to the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) differ based on the specific subject and program of study.

  • To be eligible for the degree award, the student must attain a minimum CGPA of 0.75 by the end of the second semester.
  • And a minimum CGPA of 1.00 by the end of subsequent semesters.
  • To pass a course, a student must individually attain at least 40% marks in the theoretical and practical components.
  • It is imperative (essential) that the student aims for a minimum CGPA of 2.20, as failing to achieve this will result in immediate removal from the university rolls, with no possibility of readmission.

UAF GPA Credit Hours

The University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) academic year will be split into two Semesters, Winter and Spring, each lasting 19 weeks.

“Credit Course” is a mandatory course of study that must be completed to obtain a degree.

“Credit Hour” signifies the completion of a course, which equates to one semester hour in theory or two semester hours in practical per week.

Minimum Credit Hours Requirement

  • Completing at least 120 Credit Hours within eight (8) semesters is mandatory to obtain a degree.
  • A minimum of fifteen (15) credit hours per semester must be completed.

Minimum and Maximum Credit Hours

  • As a student, you must enrol in the first and second semesters and complete the total number of credit hours specified.
  • Once this is done, you can register for courses with a minimum of 17 Credit Hours and a maximum of 27 Credit Hours. 
  • It is deemed acceptable as long as the maximum credit hours typically do not exceed 30.
  • Extra credit hours will only be permitted during the 7th and 8th semesters.
